ÀN MAGNUM 2016

This is a wine made from specific vineyards, whose character reflects several unique factors; the old callet vines (40 to 60 years old) that are only found in Mallorca; the poor soil with good mineral content (iron oxide) lying over calcareous rocks and the fact that the vine roots have to dig deep to compete with fruit trees planted amongst the vines.  The wine artfully reveals all of these qualities.

Grape Varieties: 95% callet, 5% mantonegre and fogoneu.

Rainfall: 350-450mm.

Pruning: Traditional gobelet method.

Production: Grapes are harvested by hand into small 10kg boxes.  Manual grape selection before temperature-controlled fermentation in cement tanks and wooden vats of 5,000 and 3,000 litres respectively.

Maceration: Average of 25-30 days.

Malolactic: Part barrel (approximately 60%) and the rest in cement tanks.

Ageing: 18 months in new, French, fine-grain oak barrels; low to medium toasted. A further 2 months of tank aging prior to bottling.

Muac 2018 de Ànima Negra

Grape Varieties: 35% Callet, Manto Negre 35%, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, pruning strains traditional glass. The average ages of unso vines is 20 years.

Vintage: 2017

Preparation: Harvest by hand in small boxes of about 10lbs. Manual selection of the grapes to the winery entrance. Temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks and 10000lts 7000., About 28 º C. Macerated for about 17 days on average.

Malolactic: In stainless steel tanks.

Aging: 5 months in French oak barrels.

Alcohol content: 13% vol.

Total Acidity: 4.7g / l (TH2)

PH: 3.52

Tasting notes: "Muac is a Mediterranean wine, with a clean, bright, color own middle layer of varieties from which it comes, subtle fruit flavors and memories of scrub, spicy tones, marked by elegant on the palate, balanced with well integrated tannins. Marked feeling of freshness and character of the area. "

Nose: Strong toast flavor sounds violets, snuff, black cherries and black raspberries

Color: Dark ruby red to purple

Taste: Very delicious with intense color and long finish, plus it hides enough tannin to develop their potential in the bottle 3-5 years. He is your best features reveal about 2018 and 2030 may drink.

The harvest is done totally by hand into small 10KG crates.

THE WINEMAKING

Elaborated from vines from the south east of the Island of Mallorca.

The influence of the sea breeze permit that the vines are found to be in an exceptionally healthy state, giving very balanced tasty grapes from an average age of 20 year old vines. All the grapes are first submitted to a rigorous manual and optical selection process before a meticulous protocol of vinification and ageing.

AGEING

The fermentation is temperature controlled at 28ºC in 7,000 & 10,000 Litre stainless steel tanks. It macerates for an average of 17 days. Subsequently staying in French & American oak barriques for 6 months.
